a member of the Association, if you have a practising certificate
and approved professional indemnity insurance, your liability
for damages is limited to $1 million by virtue of The New South
Wales Bar Association's Professional
Standards Scheme.

a barrister' directory on the Bar Association's web site,
which allows members of the public to search for a barrister.
Searches may be made by name, location and practice areas.
- Class
A members with a current NSW practising certificate are eligible
to stand for and vote at the annual Bar Council elections
- Receive
regular e-mail updates on current news from the Bar Association
- Receive
copies of the Bar Association's monthly publication Bar Brief
and bi-annual publication Bar News
In
accordance with Chapter 4 of the Bar
Association's Constitution only local barristers holding a current
NSW practising certificate can be a Class A' member of the
Bar Association. However, the Constitution also provides for Class
B' membership open to any interstate practitioners, judges, retirees

annual subscription fees applicable to those not holding a NSW barristers
practising certificate. The membership year runs from 1 July to
30 June.
