The list has been compiled using the Bar Council minutes, the Association's annual reports and the Law Almanac. However, record keeping in the early years of the Association was aberrant and some errors or omissions may have occurred.

Anyone with knowledge of errors in this list is encouraged to contact the Bar Association's publications manager.

* indicates death, appointment or resignation causing a casual vacancy# indicates elected or appointed to fill a casual vacancy. Entries in bold indicate office bearers who were not members of the Council.

    The chair and the attorney general



At a meeting of the council on 17 June 1902 it was resolved that the chairman of the council would be the attorney general and the vice chairman would be the senior member of the Bar present at a meeting of the Council.Learn More >>
